MORE ABOUT OUR WHY…
OUR ROLE AS A PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITY ORGANISATION
Under South Africa’s EPR Regulations, Producers, importers, local manufacturers, brand owners, resellers and distributors placing regulated products on the market carry legal responsibility for the management of waste generated throughout the full lifecycle of those products.
Circular Energy assumes and manages these responsibilities on behalf of Producer Members, but only where such members are:
For compliant Producer Members, Circular Energy administers EPR fee collection, compliance reporting, government liaison, target fulfilment and transparent disbursement of funds across the value chain to ensure collection, recovery and recycling obligations are met.
In addition, Circular Energy works with General Members and industry stakeholders who actively seek to participate in circular economy initiatives, even where they do not carry direct statutory Producer obligations.
EDUCATION, AWARENESS
AND INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT
Circular Energy is mandated to educate and engage the relevant markets on the critical challenges and opportunities within the circular economy.
We actively communicate with:
Through structured communication, campaigns, training initiatives and industry engagement, we promote understanding of regulatory obligations, environmental risks and practical solutions for waste minimisation and resource recovery. We also provide updates on organisational progress, projects and sector developments.
Along with all the mandatory communications
that Circular Energy is required to provide,
we also strive to share our purpose, continuously
build our brand, and reinforce our
commitment to a circular economy.
